Liefering - the village in the city
The Salzburg district Liefering, with a small village in the middle of the city, is located in the northwest of Salzburg. The Salzburg district is bordered in the southeast by the Glanbach and the Glankanal, in the southwest by the railroad line Salzburg-Rosenheim, in the northwest by the Saalach and in the east by the Salzach. Liefering is the most populous district of Salzburg after Lehen and is one of the largest districts of the state capital in terms of area.
As a residential area, this district is particularly popular with most of Salzburg's detached and semi-detached houses. In addition to the optimal transport links including S-Bahn and freeway connections in all directions, Liefering offers a wide range of shopping and leisure opportunities.

The Salzachseen with the Lieferinger Badesee, with beach volleyball and basketball facilities, a playground with climbing net and swings, as well as the Saalacher Auen are among the most popular recreational areas for Salzburgers.
