The charming Salzburg district of Morzg is picturesquely situated in the green south of Salzburg along Gneiserstraße and Morzgerstraße and borders directly on the Nonntal district with Nonntaler Hauptstraße and Hofhaymerallee.

The idyllic residential area scores with extensive green spaces, very good infrastructure and a charming, pretty little village center including a baroque church.

You can take a really stately stroll, a kind of pleasure walk, along Hellbrunner Allee, starting with a walk through the impressive landscape garden of Hellbrunn with its popular zoo. Then the imposing path leads from palace to palace along Hellbrunn Alley. Here, one castle really does line up after another and one villa after another. You can admire the Emslieb Palace, the Emsburg Palace, the Frohnburg Palace, the Kayserburg and the Lasserhof (also known as the Gwandhaus) and finally the Herrnau - Christanihof Palace.

In the former Lasserhof the Gwandhaus is indeed "Gwand" at home. The Gwandhaus stands in the tradition of the great cloth houses of Europe and has devoted itself with the "landlord Gössl" completely to the traditional costume. This house lives handicraft and lets you participate in it. From the birth in the atelier over the fitting to the purchase of a Gössl garment. However, the Gwandhaus is not only home to Gwand, but also to culinary delights and award-winning cuisine with a star restaurant, the Restaurant Reinhartshuber. There you will find art conjured up with much love on the plates of the guests. And for those who prefer casual enjoyment, the Gwandhaus has the Greisslerei to offer, a delicatessen, or rather a cozy living room with a cozy terrace and exceptionally stunning views of the mountains.

To complement the culinary excursion through Morzg, the Buberlgut should also be visited. The Buberlgut is a neat "fine-dine" restaurant in an old farmstead, which has the familiar shape of a Flachgau Einhof (Mittertenn farmstead). Old stone walls around the typical small windows characterize the imposing appearance of the old farmstead from the 17th century.

Pleasure strolling and cycling along the castles of Hellbrunn Alley

"Along the Hellbrunner Allee you will not only find numerous castles and villas, but also pure nature with many meadows and fields to the left and right of the avenue. It is a beautiful cycling, riding, running and walking path and it can be run, walked or cycled here from Salzburg's Nonntal to Anif or Grödig," Michael Denkstein of the Hellbrunner Allee recreation area is enthusiastic. "Morzg can also offer a lot in terms of cuisine. The Buberlgut, for example, has been one of the top culinary addresses in the city of Salzburg for more than 20 years. Within the historic walls, down-to-earthness meets true sensory delights, and the innkeeper entertains his guests with a really great deal of wit, humor and charm. Fine Italian cuisine can be found a few streets away at Cicchetti, and at the Reinhartshubers' Gwandhaus there are culinary delights and art on the plate."

Morzg has an elementary school and a kindergarten in its small village center next to the church. Senior citizens' clubs, the active Morzger Krampusse and the Morzger Turnverein are examples of a lively club life and community togetherness.
