The Taxham district of Salzburg is located in the northwest of the state capital on the way from the city to Schloss Kleßheim. The boundary line to the neighboring district of Maxglan runs roughly along the Maxglan-Siezenheim II cadastral municipality boundary, i.e. along Rosa-Hoffmann-Strasse and Favoritagasse, with the eastern end of the Bolaringsiedlung to the northeast forming the border to Maxglan.
Taxham is a popular residential area for families, not least because of its perfect transport links, including the S-Bahn, and numerous kindergartens and schools.
In the northeast of the district is the popular Europark, the most successful and now the largest shopping center in western Austria. Taxham residents can find sporting activities at the Taxham Amateur Sports Association with its soccer, fit sports, table tennis and volleyball sections, as well as the ASKÖ Bolaring-Taxham amateur soccer club.
